Haight Cattle Co. is a family ranch. The cattle are born here, grow up here, and go one at a time — not into a truck bound for somewhere else, but into freezers belonging to people we have met.
Everybody helps.
There is no crew. The work gets done by whoever is standing there, which on most days includes somebody small holding a bottle. The boys feed calves before school and strap the hay down after it.
That is not a marketing line about family values — it is a description of who was in the field this morning, and it is the reason we know every animal by sight.
You will know which one.
When you buy a share, we tell you the animal it came from — its name, what it weighed off the rail, which field it was raised in and what it was fed.
Almost nobody selling beef can tell you that. We can, because there is one animal behind your order rather than a day’s worth of them blended together.
Come and look.
You are welcome to drive out before you buy anything. Walk the field, meet the cattle, ask whatever you like. We would rather you did.
